A friend of mine has lent me two books Beyond the Chindwin first published 1944 and The Wild Green Earth first published 1946 both by Bernard Fergusson. I have to return them to him. But if there is anything in particular ww2talkers would like me to look up or scan, I would be happy to do so. There are some maps. They are both paperbacks and the printing is not terrific. maddogkincaid

Beyond the Chindwin was the very first Chindit book I ever read. Little did I know back in 2006 that I was reading about the exploits of my own grandfather and his unit. Fergusson should be applauded for his writings, always informative, but at the same time extremely readable.

Essential reading for those studying Longcloth and the 16th and both very good reads... my dad had the latter in his library and it resides in mine now...

    Thanks for the offer anyway...

Got both books, have only read Btc but as Steve said very readable and a great telling of the Chindits.
