This is going to need excel to chart the results, turning into a better 'best of' thread purely by illustrating how silly (but fun) 'best of's' are..
Churchill or A22 shouldn't really be cropping up yet should it? I'm sure the mk1 only rolled out in '41, (i'll have to check) Dieppe was '42 so that's when it's career began for me (was 'Kingforce' earlier than Dieppe???I'll check that too, probably not...?) but we can save that for stage 2.. which surely is 'The desert'....or should it be Barbarossa for a break from the same designs as above???

I couldn't agree more on the "silly". Problem is per experience some people start taking this things seriously and it becomes a pissing or d**k length contest.

we could Veto the use of the words 'Tiger' or 'PanzerVI' or even 'Big Cat' that could avoid a lot of the cliches:lol:.

I feel I've got to put a word in for the British Mark VI... not saying it's the best of anything and I pity the poor sods that were sent out to fight in them but there is something about their shape that pleases me enormously. (Is this why the missus refers to Armour books stacked next to the Loo as 'Tank Porn'?....hmmmm.)

I'm just curious - has anyone in this thread ever been trained as a tank crewman?

Two most significant issues would be Armament(stand off range) and radio equipped.

Hi there Warulfsdottyr, I'd dispute your 'of course' for the Koenigt***r suggestion but maybe later. What's your choice for the Blitzkrieg Period?

i still LIKE tigers more than the most other tanks, the t-34 was a good tank too, but for some reason i despise the Sherman.

I used to dismiss the Sherman, not enough glamour for me as a kid but the more I look into it the more I realise what a fantastically succesful machine it grew to be.

What's your choice for the Blitzkrieg period then? we're still back there on this thread.:)

    Tiger,..
created so much phobia at any front for anyone who against it,..
in the east,.. it was a major offense for the tankers who shows fear towards tiger tank,.
and in the west,.. allied soldiers keep saying tigers are everywhere, despite of its limited number availability at the front,..

I think th Phobia basically came from Tunisia, where the green US forces where completly outmanouvered by the Axis. For the Briish and soviets more used to dealing with German Armour I dont think the repuation was quite so high.

The Königstiger. Such an impressive and huge beastly looking machine. Despite of the mechanical issues it had it was still amazing. And like Gumalangi says, the stories concerning the Tigers would make any enemy shiver.

Well I would certainly put the Tiger as a tank that could dominate a battlefield but its mechanical reliability was not great.
