Glider: No, Isn't Bisley the home of the UKNRA?

Spidge, I spend time at the range because I'm not a Venison fan. A lever action .44 is a staple rifle, Unfortunately, I don't have one in my inventory. I had to settle for the 30-30.

The Garand makes a heck of a Deer Rifle, A scoped E7 kind of takes the sport out of it. Kind of like hunting with a Parker Hale.

You're thinking of the NRAUK - National Rifle Association of the United Kingdom

Enjoy is relative. I have just come back from an outdoors .22 shoot at 50 and 100 yards. Its a cold miserable day today and it chucked it down with rain at the end so enjoy is relative.

I don't know where you are based Herroberst, have you been to Bisley?

Glider - have you been to Bisley. When I worked in the butts there, donkeys ago, I thought they primitive compared to Army ranges.

So you are forbidden to say United Kingdom's National Rifle Association?

I have been to Bisley a number of times mainly to buy ammo as the local firearms dealers don't stock the type that I use.
We used to go to the long ranges twice a year to shoot fullbore rifles but that stopped around 8 years ago. They have spent a lot of money on the ranges, the new shooting centre is as good as they get and all the facilities are being looked at for refurbishment. Now they need to sort out the parking.

I would second what Spidge says in his posting. The only animal that I have shot were rats for which I don't apologise for.

Money call, How about a virtual reality hunting big game scenario? That way no one or animal gets the chop. But the experience is their for those who are into it.

I still get plenty of enjoyment from hitting the paper targets.

It is good that there is a bayonet for Einfield.I never seen or read about a soldiers of Brithis army who use bayonet :)
In the Eastern coutrys this knife was a vital part of the Army. There are many battles that Bulgaria win only with using bayonet put on the rifle.I have read a story about a Russian and Bulgarian sailors who was surounded by German ships. And the soldiers get on a land and get rifles. After a few days the germans come and russians and bulgarians attack only with bayonet put in front of the rifle and win a lot of battles. The Russian comad tell to soldiers that they will send amoition and food but the soldiers say that they dont need nothig. They doesent use ammo :)
If you like bayonet fighting stories just found the book for you on eBay.

Who by? It makes more sense calling it UKNRA, but the proper title/initials whatever are NRAUK. As long as everyone knows what organisation their on about what difference does it make!!

Lance, I was being sarcastic. Its what happens to Englishmen when they settled America and had generations of family. Of course it doesn't make a difference.

Saw Vasily Zaitsev's rifle today scoped and in good condition. Still prefer a Byf41 with a 6X Hensoldt.

Look chaps, most of us here were brought up to call it just the NRA. Most of us know whose 'N' we happen to be talking about, especially if Bisley's in the conversation, so there's no need for the 'UK' bit on either end, or for any confusion with any overseas organisation of the same name...:)

Hello HO, I know it doesn't. My comment was in humourous tone, and not being critical or nit picking/ splitting hairs. I should have put - lol on the end that way it would have been taken in the vein in which I meant it.

Same here I have always called it NRA. Anybody who shoots knows what it's about.

The team I am working with have asked me to set up a team building away day and you only get one guess as to where we are going. Clay/skeet shooting, black powder handguns and Fullbore, am really looking forward to it.
