No photographers pass Chad, but a long lens and a willingness to run sometimes ;).

Ahhhh, well I fail on both of those factors.

Here's a last batch from me, typically covering other stuff, it's hard to describe the scale of W&P other than "massive". As for what's there best to stick to "lots". This years musts for me were the 38t and the Churchill, although I didn't find the toad Churchill but another one, but you'll hear no complaints for that. Also landies (Landrovers) which I'm a great fan of. Bumping into the M3 was just luck, I just followed the smoke signals. Apparently some staff car belonging to Monty was meant to be there but I didn't see it.
Next show is MO at the county ground on August Bank Holiday, less kit but easier to get a chat with the owners.

Excellent photos lads. Looks like you photographed the whole of Beltring.;)
Although I couldn't make it you've made up for it here. Nice one.

One thing I've never understood about Landrovers or Jeeps is why they have the gas canisters so easily exposed to enemy fire?

I like that crashed Spitfire photo.

About the uniforms, always wanted a US paratroop uniform. Did any of you guys see them about? The German ones going for £20 each. Nice an cheap.

They look like modern European & Soviet ones Marcus, for re-pro try people like 'Soldier of Fortune', but anything original & US paratrooper related has gone through the roof in terms of price after Band of Brothers. Seems kind of unimaginative to me to go for these 'elite' units... what's wrong with Sea-bees or Pioneer Corps ;).

If you reckon we've photographed the whole of Beltring then you really have to get down there one year mate. It is, as chad says, MASSIVE. There's always vehicles in other people's pictures that I think "where the hell was that?!" and I spend 3+ days wandering around... I really don't think it can be done in a single day.

I think the jerry cans on jeeps/landies are quite safe because they're generally involved in very fast hit and run actions, or concealed a couple of miles off for slowly slowly catchee monkey stuff. The accounts I've read, including African mercenary actions, when they've stumbled across the enemy it's foot down all guns blazing, buggering off before the enemy really has the opp to respond.

I only ever manage a day and it's a push to get in everything. You're quite right about missing the odd vehicle or display, especially vehicles as they often trundling around when you're strolling on some far away track. This year I didn't take that many photo's because a lot of vehicles were present in previous years.

Don't know about US para uniform prices as I wasn't looking at those, but there was a few stalls specialising in all that kit, even one this year doing the kit in children's sizes, which I think is a reaction, in part, to the HJ junior reenactors.

Did get the boy slug a full set of flecktarn (2 pair trousers, jacket, parka, hat and t-shirt for £16 total, the most expensive part of that being the t-shirt, which was new, at £5), I bought his mate a DPM jacket and trousers total £6. The hats you can see them wearing were 50p a piece. Didn't find what I was looking for though, but imagine I'll find it at MO.

Beltring is a crazy place. Where else but the NAAFI wagon can you share a mug of tea and a wad with Ike, MacArthur, Patton and Monty!

To reinforce the scale of the show, here's the entry list for this year, some don't make it and others turn up late but it does show broadly just how many vehicles attend and what a wide variety they are.

I know this might seem stupid but given that I'm not from the UK, what on earth is a "wad"? Is it a type of sarnie/sandwich??
