    There are a lot of battle places in Ukraine. I want to show you some of them. The first place is "Height of Konev". There was battle between Russian & German forces in august 1943 when Kharkov was realised.

    Is the German cemetery respected by the local people or does it sometimes get vandalised, is all the hatred gone now ?

    Of course the cemetery is respected by locals, because first of all this place is cemetery and it's doesn't matter what kind of nation are buring there.

    Zilberman your English is very good and your photos are excellent welcome to WW2 talk. :)

    If you can post up more photos of Kharkov , the areas fought over and the cemeteries of the Russian and German war dead I would be very grateful.
    :poppy::poppy:
    Do many visitors come from Germany ?
    I would be interested and grateful for photos of German cemeteries as I was unaware until you posted of what they look like and what format they are presented in Russia , a very sad and tragic past for both nations.

    Thank you

    The next one place is "Mound of Fame". It located near the town of Novaya Vodolaga. More than 5000 soviet soldiers are buried there.

    There are a lot of visitors not only from Germany but and from other countries of Europa. I was doing for some of them military tours on the battlefields with metal detectors, we are looking for trenches, bunkers, and traces of the war.

    War Memorial is on the way to the hermitage.
    It is dedicated to Lieutenant Vladimir Kamyshev (1923-1943) who was an artillery officer and a gun layer during the battle at the Holy Mountains in 1943.
    He perished at his post and is buried there.
    The monument at his grave reminds you of the horrors of the Second World War.

    A bit more here about the monastery .
    1945: Our common victory

    German aviation started bombing Pushkinskiye Gory a few days after the war had begun. In early July, one of the bombs destroyed the dome of the Svyatogorsk monastery....

    It took sappers almost five years after the war to clear it of mines – they found about 4,000 in the Svyatogorsk monastery alone.

    Great photos Zilberman. I thought I read somewhere that Stalin had ordered all German cemeteries to be plowed over as he did not want any signs of the German occupation. Obviously must have been a bad source.
