Thanks Andy, ..and if anyone wishes information about Cassino, San Pietro Infine and Anzio I would be pleased to help. Danila
Welcome Danila could have done with you last year when I last visited in 2008, do you extend down to Sangro River? Oldman
Hi I went to Torino di Sangro at the Commonwealth Cemetery last year in November. It's an amazing place to visit and such a beautiful valley still unspoilt. Yes, of course the tour can be extetended there as it only a couple of hours from Cassino and of course also to Salerno if you are interested and also to Rome. This is a sample tour I have published on my website but of course all tours can be customized according to your requests: Monte cassino Battlefield Tour > ITINERARY: ANZIO & CASSINO BATTLEFIELD TOUR Where did you go exactly last year?
Danila, if you are ever in a position to help out with headstone photographs from the Italian CWGC's there are a great number of us that woul be greatful P

I am be busy for a tour from Christmas untl 30th of December but In January I will have plenty of times available so Just give me a list and I will do the pictures for you. Thanks you Danila for this kind offer. I will be back to you with some names and locations. Welcome to the Forum from Canada. We have around 5600 still there with you. cheers, phil
Hi Phil, you are more than welcome. My hometown Frosinone has been liberated by the Canadians and all the population is particularly grateful to Canada. This year for the 65th Anniversary I was one whole week with a group of 13 Canadian Veterans who fought here during last War. Some of them came back this year for the first time. I will never forget this experience and I am always more aware that the soldiers who fought for our freedom must not be fogotten. Ciao Danila

Hi Paul and Phil I live in Frosinone and I can reach quite easily Cassino, Anzio and Rome. In March I will go to the Minturno Cemetery for a tour and in that occasion I could take the picture for you. But I will take the other in mind for example if I go to Naples or Caserta or Salerno which are the nearest locations I let you know. Regarding Forli I have a book with all cemeteries in Emilia Romagna and all fallen soldiers with reference of the grave but unfortunately no pictures of the single headstones. Basically I can start with Cassino in January and following with Anzio not immediately as I have no tours during the winter and unfortunately the connections between Frosinone and Anzio by trains are really bad. So Cassino and Rome in January and when I have the possibilities the others I can guarantee when but as I have the chance I will do. There are 37 Commonwealth Cemeteries in Italy and allthough Italy is not a huge country from Bari to Coriano there are several hundreds of Kms. An other possibility is to contact the gardeners in the various cemeteries and ask if they could do the pictures. There is an headoffice in Roma and it is possible to ask for the numbers or contact mobile of the Gardeners. Once I had a request for the Forli Indian Cemetery and a few years ago and in that occasion he was so kind to do the pictures so I could send it to Birmingham. Send the list for Cassino as soon as you can both of you and I begin with that I am going to Cassino next Sunday 27th December and I might have the possibility to take the picturs.... Ciao Danila
Sorry I realized only now that Cassino and Cassino memorial are in red so completed.... So I can do Rome soon and then (not immediately but in the next months) Anzio, Minturno and Salerno, also Caserta is possible.....
