battlefield touring

    a lesson to all who travel around the battlefields.
    we were driving down a single track road when we had to pull over for a passing car.
    as you can see from tyre tracks we were that close to hitting something a kind farmer left on the side of the road!!

    cycle!!! I did 200kms in a day taking pictures of headstones for people. not going to cycle that far, with or without onions

    Was it a Tuesday - isn't Tuesday explosives collection day in Belgium?

    The farmers are so used to ploughing up artillery shells that they just pile them up at the roadside for collection on a regular basis.
    Safety takes an apparent back seat. OK until one goes off and then repercussions later.

    The farmers have had armour plated panels on their tractors for many years. Perhaps this insurance brings along a sense of the blasé!
