Battle of the bulge

    Hello im a new Member here and was wondering what you think would've happened if watch on the rhine would've worked in taking Arnhem

    Welcome, It would have lengthened the war a bit but same outcome.

    All in all it was a crazy attempt to get something if the Germans would've held back they might of dragged the war on longer but we dont know we do know it would'nt of affected the Russians on the Eastern front.

    The Eastern Front was already doomed at that point.

    If Wacht am Rhien had succeeded (which was unlikely) then the alllies would of undertaken a similar operation as at Falaise and surrounded the Germans (neck of the pocket around the Bastonge area). The outcome of the war would of been the same though.
