From the Irish Times today: "John Hemingway, the last of 36 Irish pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain and the only remaining RAF veteran of the Battle of France, is celebrating his 100th birthday on Wednesday (17th June)." He was shot down four times: once in the Battle of France, twice in the Battle of Britain and finally in Italy, parachuting behind enemy lines..
