Few things better than seeing PA474 and her little friends roar over. Pottering around a Leicestershire Garden centre and she came over twice - with just one Spitfire shaped companion. Bloody marvellous. One Merlin is nice, but 5 is better... Are they aware of the effect they have on the ground? Plant shopping drawing to a halt, and people driving trolleys into each other as they stare at the sky. Presumably they were displaying for the nearby 'Victory Show'. I'm attending that tomorrow, so hopefully I'll see 'em again. Mention it here when you see one of our country's finest little assets go over. And I shall be jealous. Rumble rumble rumble, Nyeeeeow... ~A
Have spates of seeing them flying around, had a Dakota accross today not sure if it was BBMF as there is a private owned plane locally that displays.
Just back from Duxford and have some vid and photos of them flying and parked. Also had 7 spits at the end flying together what a hair raising sound of all those Merlins. Brilliant. !!!!! Post photos later.
I'm lucky enough to see them everyday, for the last week the Vulcan has been parked in 29 Sqns hanger after having a major Hyd leak last weekend. Its amazing to see a Vulcan parked in a RAF hangar again, even it does take up half of it.
The Lancaster from the BOB Memorial flight photos, to-day at Duxford 3/9/2011. Video later. Thanks for sharing. I thought I heard a Merlin go over this morning but couldn't get outside quick enough.
I was at Wimpole Hall, nr Cambridge, on Thursday; a visit to show our grandson - 21 months old - the animals, his main interest at present. We stopped for a picnic, sun shining beautifully and then...an impromptu air display for about 20 minutes from what looked like a Mustang, but can't be certain though. Near the end of its display/practice the aeroplane did a loop, rolled out of it and swooped with increasing speed to a very low level as though it was on a strafing run. I swear it was making straight for ME. We hear the word 'awesome' used a lot these days to describe the ordinary, but that loop and strafing run was AWESOME. I have been to a Duxford display before and brilliant it is, but I much preferred the private show on Thursday! Best, Steve.
I'm lucky enough to see them everyday Lucky you! I get them once a year if lucky as the flightpath is overhead for the HM Queen's birthday. Nothing quite like that roar though, is there

On 29-8 we were lucky enough to see the BBMF Lanc do her stuff in the air while 'Just Jane' had her engines running on the airfield. 2 aircraft, 8 Merlins. East Kirby is the only place where you can see that. Regards, Marco
Probably this one; Thanks for that, Richard. I didn't mention the engine noise; just an amazing sound. And even my grandson couldn't take his eyes off the display; he's learning... Best, Steve.

Its amazing to see a Vulcan parked in a RAF hangar again, even it does take up half of it. A friend spoke to me last week and mentioned that the Vulcan went over quite low with it's undercarridge down. Thought it unusual as it was not near any airfields where it would normally land. He flys himself, so heard on the grapevine that a hydraulic failure had occurred.
Some video of Spit's Huricanes, brief glimpse of a Mustang and the B.O.B. Memorial flight. Sods law dictated that the battery was getting low when the 7 spits entered the scene so I had to keep switching off and restart for a few seconds at a time. Ladies and gentleman time to turn the ol' speakers up to LOUD.!!!!!
When the homepage of BoB MF states that they plan a flypast over Northolt on 15th Sept at 1830, will that be RAF Northolt in London NW ?
No sign of the 'Conventional' BBMF formation today (glad I caught that Lanc yesterday), but that delightful Hurricane with an actual BoB history was up. And a side to them I'd not seen before - their Dakota marked up in Berlin Airlift livery (I think). Photos processing.

I didn't see them personally, but this from BBC News Spitfires take to skies in Battle of Britain Memorial Flight 13 August 2015 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-33910587
