On this day 80 years ago a huge battle took place over the sky's Britian between the RAF and the Luftwaffe of Nazi Germany. It was a turning point in ww2 and became famously know as ' The Battle of Britain.'

    lest we forget :poppy:

I've just watched the John Hemingway clip on BBC. Very glad there's one of the few left to represent all the others.

The BBC have a programme on it tonight - odd thing the I player entry has the presenters standing by a Sopwith Triplane

Talking of iPlayer, I've just noticed the recent Spitfire documentary is on there as well. That's my evenings entertainment sorted.

This is not, alas, a great movie, though it does have a great cast, great aircraft and a great subject. I think I like the ending best.
