Barnsley Pals lookup - Rev. Fred Seaton Smith

Any books on the Barnsley pals mention The Reverend Fred Seaton Smith, chaplain 4th class attached to the Barnsley Pals?
A native of Pocklington, North Yorkshire he appears on a local (to me) memorial in Leeds West Yorkshire (All souls church).

Found his CWGC page and a few other internet pages, just wondering what his connection to Leeds was?
