Can anyone add any more information for me?
    Casualty
BARNES, ELIZABETH LOUISA Age: 24 Date of Death: 10/07/1945 Private.
Auxiliary Territorial Service. Service Number: W/212238.
Buried: MIDSOMER NORTON (ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST) CHURCH CEMETERY Plot 3. Row 11. Grave 26.
Daughter of Frank and Gertrude Lily Barnes, of Westfield. [Not Named on the Westfield Memorial]

By July 1945, the War in Europe was over. Possibly illness or a road traffic accident?
Midsomer Norton doesn't seem to have a hospital, perhaps an ATS base there?

Strange that she wasn't brought home for burial in Sussex.

    Thanks for any additional information

Seems a native of Westfield, Somerset, and buried not far away in Bath.

Remembered on the War memorial at Radstock, Somerset.

    1939-1945

    BARNES E.L. (Miss)

    Radstock

Westfield was a mining village on the Somerset Coalfields & until 2011 when it became a separate parish was part of Radstock Norton Parish. It did not have a C of E church until 1988.

Thanks. Stand down, all. I think I made a mistake in assuming it was in East Sussex, when there is obviously a Westfield in Somerset (well a Trading Estate nearby. From the above information so kindly found, there isn't any connection to East Sussex. I thought that as there was a Barnes family in Westfield, then there was a potential connection.
    Oops!
