    Hi

Can anyone help me with the exact location of the above unit in January 1946 and what would an airman have experienced there while waiting for repatriation and demob?

I believe that the BAFO HQ was at Bad Eilsen, would the PHU have been co-located with the HQ?

    Thank you and best regards

    Mike

I have a BAFO Location Statement dated 1 April 1946. This lists under Air H.Q. B.A.F.O. (OPS) the following units in UK:-

    103 Wing Princess Gardens Gatwick
    R.A,F. Station Gatwick Gatwick, UK.
    B.A.F.O. P.H.U. Stapleford Tawney, U.K.

I can see no other P.H.U. based in Germany

The P..H.U. does not appear in the B.A.F.O. location statement of 1 June 1946.........
