Badge Identifications

Discussion in 'Royal Artillery' started by Andyworkshopman, Feb 8, 2025.

  1. Can anyone make out anything from the badges on this chaps arm?
He was in Sicily and Italy, was in the PO valley battle.
I'm trying to work out what regiment he was in, I'm not sure if you can tell this by the badges on his arm?

I agree with Owen it is the 1st Division badge, worn on both sleeves red to the front. He is a substansive Sgt, Lance Sgts did not wear the gun. !st Div had the same RA units for most of the war so he would have been in one of the following:
    2 Field Rgt RA
    19 Field Rgt RA
    67 Field Rgt RA
    81 Anti-Tank Rgt RA
    90 Light Anti-Aircraft Rgt RA
Unfortunately none of these units had their own distinctive badges so I can't even eliminate any of them.
