I was going through some of my Great Grandad's things from the First World War and among them is a booklet which he got when he was a POW - "Souvenir of Captivity in Germany 1917". It is a collection of some of the highlights from the camp journal Echo de Rennbahn. Anyway one of the sketches in it imagines what things might be like in the future in 1946 (attached). Particularly like the sign "Dropping Out Ist Streng Verboten"!!!
Makes me wonder how many had sons who became POWs in the rematch? Well as it happens his son (my Grandad) was a POW too. They both ended up in hospitals in Münster to treat their wounds.
