It was the name given to Army units in North Europe at the endo of the war.

IIRC the troops fighting in NW Europe were first known as BWEF, which stood for something like British Western European Force.

When it became clear that the troops were not going to be kicked out of Europe the name changed to BLA - British Liberation Army.

Being the British Army the troops said that BWEF stood for "Burma When Europes Finished" and BLA stood for "Burma Looms Ahead".
