Ford was also one of three companies that made the Jeeps for WWII. The manufacturers were expected to replace any failed parts. Henry Ford put a small F on most of the Jeep Parts on the Jeeps Ford made and he would ONLY replace those parts. He refused to replace any failed parts without a F stamp into the part with the number.
