AHF has been down now for 11 days. Clearly the move to a new system has gone badly wrong and the lack of any news anywhere is troubling. What can have gone wrong? Axis History Forum - Information

    That's not good, is it.
No info to be found on a quick Twatter & Friendface search.
    Hope they get it sorted.

It is starting to look rather ominous. I think it is now fourteen days straight. I recall they were offline for an extended period when the server was last updated/migrated/whatever but not if it was this long.

On balance I hope it's not lost. There is a lot of stuff on there I don't like, and I've flitted in and out over the years, leaving in an indignant huff at least once, and just drifting off a couple of times. It also provides an often incredible resource of information, principally on the Axis but also on the Allied forces as well. It certainly can be credited with my being able to obtain Red Army organisational info I simply could not get via any route I could find.

Still nothing on unsocial media I take it?

I've looked at it from time to time but it makes the old 'Fan-Boy' radar twitch a little.

Having been around the internet for some 18 years now and having the scars to prove it I can say with some authority that AHF is not a fanboise site. Never has been. True that fanboise do post there but the number of informed posters who can (and do) counter and destroy their arguments is legion and thus they ill-informed quickly get a lesson in sourcing their fictions. You are always going to meet people who hold views that are different from 'yours'. Believers in 'German superiority' sometimes have a point and you have to get used to the idea that 'you' may lose the argument. That is just the way it goes. I have lost too many arguments to be confident in my own infallibility!
Facebook is (in my opinion) the place where the real fanboise now dominate, What happens is a few hard-core true believers set up their own page and through bullying and removal of all opposing views create the perfect platform for uncritical worship of all things German. They attract a large following of people who know bugger all about history and are fooled into believing all the the 'Mods' lies and propaganda.

This is a recent and representitive example from the 'non-political' Tiger Tank Facebook page.

One of the clowns is a mod. Non-political being defined as any criticism that they are pro-Nazi is political and swiftly erased and the accuser removed from the group. You are never kicked out for views like the above but without exception anyone who has any criticism of 'Michael Whitman'(sic) is first warned to stop posting those views and if they persist they are kicked out.
