Award Military Medal Pfc. Harold Bobb, Medical Detachment 941st Field Artillery Battalion (33454152)

On 16th December 1944, when intense enemy shelling inflicted numerous casualties upon crew members of an artillery battery near Kalterherberg, Germany, Private First Class BOBB, medical aid man, heroically evacuated the ginner to safety and rendered life-saving medical aid. Without hesitation, he returned to the gun position and administered treatment to other members of the crew. Later, when the vehicle evacuating the casualties was subjected to heavy artillery fire, Private First Class BOBB, with thoughts only of his fellow soldiers, assumed an upright position in order to better hold a severely wounded soldier on a litter and this prevent unnecessary aggravation of his comrade's serious back injury. Private First Class BOBB's gallant actions greatly restored the morale and confidence of the battered crew members and save the lives of several men.
