    Hello all!

Does anyone know of any Aussie Dambusters still alive today? Last year I met the daughter of one such man in Melbourne, Australia and managed to get a picture taken with some of his memorabilia... Although I didn't get to meet him... and the picture of me with one of his signed 617 Sqn prints is too lower res to make out the details... and I've forgotten his name sadly... The names Howard and Martin come to mind but according to some details I found, both Australian's with those names passed away a few years back... I do remember his daughter telling me he was a pilot on the raid...

Any help will be appreciated as always :)

I may be wrong...and hope I am, but I believe that all the RAAF chaps are no longer with us. Last one I recall passing was Dave Shannon.

    Hopefully Spidge knows more.

Not sure whether Dave Shannon was the last however there are none now.(Australians)

Their last reunion in 2008 was a very thin affair.

There are no Aussie "Dambusters" alive, I believe there are only 4 veterans still alive. 2 in Canada, 1 in the UK and 1 in New Zealand.

Are you referring to just the Dams raid? Because there are more than one veteran of the WWII No. 617 (Dambusters) Squadron still alive in New Zealand. At least three from the squadron that I know of.
