Bill I am truly most grateful as are my unfortunate ladies. Can I take the liberty of adding two more in The Northern Cemetery? Hilda Branton, Wren, Compt 285. Gr.46 and Edna Warren, WAAF, Compt 230. Gr 45. If you require my email I will PM it. My best wishes Tony

Regards Verrieres P.S LIST OF ATS CASUALTIES http://www.atsremembered.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/CWGCpdf.pdf
Verriers My sincere thanks. I do have all the ATS CWGC recorded casualties plus a few non-coms. They and all the others keep me well occupied but they are worth the time. Thanks again Tony
Tony Witrh regard to the non coms have you seen the thread about those here http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/non-commemorated-war-dead/ I know Chris has done some excellent work with WW1 non coms, and know he has found some for WW2 also. I also found some female casualties recently in cemeteries I visited, but I have yet to check if they are ATS! If they are do you want copies of the pictures? Regards Andy
Andy My research covers all Female service and associated organisations casualties from all campaigns, too many gaps to list. If it is not too inconvenient can you list their names and service and I can check if required. I appreciate your offer. Regards Tony
Max Small world. My Uncle was 'A' Coy. 2nd Battalion, was leading a Platoon up to the forward positions of Point 593 when they were hit by heavy mortar fire, 2 killed instantly and 19 wounded, he died while being brought down the mountain side, 10th March. Is it possible Pte. McDevitt was one of the other casualties who died later? Tony Tony heres a reply I got fom a Mr Norman Bird who has a website called " Walthamstow Memories" It opens up possibilities here "upon re-reading the book "War over Walthamstow" I found that the first V1 to hit Walthamstow landed on a gun-site at Low Hall Farm on June 16th 1944 causing one death and (quote) a number of other casualties. This gun-site was about half a mile from Coppermill Lane, and I expect the crew would have included ATS girls, one of which COULD have been Rosina billeted at her mother's home, although it is 7 months before her death. A bit tenuous I know, but worth a mention I thought. The book, which was published in October 1945, also states that not all V1 AND V2 strikes are
Max Grateful for any details that you find regarding her death. Do you know the date of death and Battalion of your friends Father? To http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x301/moonraker_02/waltham1.jpgny Heres a picture of a V attack in Rosinas area ,three days before her death she is buried very close to this

If this picure in the last message doesnt work I can email it to you Max Pic. deleted by Photobucket. Email coming in PM. There is every possibility that she could have died as a result of the V attack so it will be worth keeping. Grateful for the offer. Tony
Tony, pics for you Pte Brewer, she should be roughly here - but lots of damage done to cemeteries in Hull due to the floods. Lots of headstones collapsed and crumbled, and lots of gaps where headstones should be too

Bill Excellent most grateful. Pity about Brewer but I suppose 90 years takes it toll, at least we have the location. Regards Tony
Tony , no problem All the WW1 headstones are easily distinguishable from the WW2 - cos they are mostly marble rather than white such as this example !
Hi. Couple more for you from South Shields Harton Cemetery;- Ruth Langford 28th June 1945 ATS Cannot find her on the CWGC and she is`nt on the CWGC cemetery register! Verrieres My thanks again, most welcome. Ruth Langford; I have done a bit of a search but her headstone does not appear to be a CWGC version, the top is different so a bit of work is required here. It is just possible, by the date of her death, that she may have taken her discharge before she died so would not have qualified under the CWGC criterea. Just speculation, will let you know if I find out anything. Thanks again Tony
