my late mother was on the Ack ack site at Whitby. Ive got her notebook . without checking I think she as on the predictor, I think there is a picture of her in uniform and in her wedding dress from 1943 but would to know if there are any pictures or diaries for the Whitby site available as I cant remember that she ever told me they hit anything although she did talk about it. she was in contact with one or two of the girls up until the early 90's

Hello. My mam was a predictor, too, before being poached by Radar/Signals ... can't remember which one at the moment. Had a quick look at her service records and I think the nearest she was to Whitby was Redcar and Middlesbrough.

Hope you find what you're looking for.

Maybe contact - http://www.atsremembered.org.uk/ - they have a section on Records which may be worth following. It may provide the battery information which may lead you on to the War Diaries, which in turn provide a daily account of what that unit did and possibly mentions any planes hit etc.

They may have photos of her/her unit at Whitby
