I have been asked by the organisers of the Annual Liberation Ceremony of Assisi (17 June each year) and the the Adopt a Grave scheme - over 500 of the 945 graves in the cemetery have been 'adopted' by local people, who undertake to lay flowers twice a year and to visit when they can - to find out if there are any relatives who would like to attend the 2017 ceremony as special guests.

For several years a veteran from 56 Division who just happened to live near Assisi was an unofficial representative of the British and Commonwealth servicemen buried there, but unfortunately he died last year.

If there is anyone out there would like to follow on in his footsteps - at least for this year - please send me a private message,

    Thanks,

    Vitellino
