10th October 1941 ASHFORTH, Joseph W, Act/Able Seaman, P/JX 273635, (President III), MPK CLARKE, Sidney, Act/Able Seaman, P/JX 273545, (President III), MPK HAWLEY, Walter, Act/Able Seaman, P/JX 273546, (President III), DOW Three RN gunners listed by CWGC as lost on this day. Were possibly killed after S.S. Warkworth sank following a collision (naval-history lists AB Hawley as being lost onboard 'Darkworth', a ship I have not been able to identify, so possibly a typo for Warkworth). Any ideas? Regards, Steve
