Can anyone help tell me any info on the air raid that happened on North Ascot in Berkshire just near the Race Course.
I am not sure if the raid was planned against troops that were using the Race course or if it was just trying to off load its bombs to get home quicker ?
The bombing happened on the 13th October 1940 when a string of bombs fell across Fernbank Road in Ascot. One of the persons killed, John Frederick Westall is recorded on the local memorial, but his wife killed with him is not ?

    Any help appreciated.
    Rgds,
    Alan
