Looking for info on my grandfather who was THOMAS MCMILLAN LOGAN of Paisley, Scotland. He was in 2 Para at Arnhem and I believe in the melee he and some others who became detached from unit after landing and after spending a long time he jmet up with and became attachedwith the Irish regiment - we have his cap badges from both units. I would love to know what his history was; if any pics are avail. showing him; what happened to cause them to become detached from unit; other battles/service he saw with 2 Para. Saw Who Do You Think You Are - Patrick Stewart's dad who was the RSM of 2 Para and wondered if he was also my grandfather's RSM. Hoping you can help me.
    Many thanks

Welcome, at the time of Arnhem.... 2 Para RSM was Gerry Strachan, RSM A. Stewart, did not arrive at the battalion until January 45 and as they said on WDYTYA he had the tough job of helping rebuild a decimated battalion that looked very different to the one that existed prior to Arnhem. You mentioned an Irish regiment, of which there were none at Arnhem, there was a Scottish battalion 7th KOSB could you post a pic of the cap badge you mention.... and then we could help confirm what regiment it is as well as seeing if we can trace the name of you Grandfather, all the best WTID45.
