You must have touched my right shoulder when you filmed the landing of the Red Devils. Levien. Well, it was the whole market-garden.info team in action. That's to say, my 13 years old son and my wife They were there with Ray and Ruth Strong(A veteran and his wife) Nice Pics Btw!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got home. I noticed this in the British press that may interest some of you Nederlanders: Bridging the gap: new generation hails Arnhem heroes - Times Online But, I have these points. Please correct me if I am wrong: 1 The article gives the impression that the majority of British 'veterans' present fought in the War, but some others there served post-war. That is misleading. My impression is that there were far more post-war veterans present than WW2 veterans. 2 The Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Beatrix were not at Oosterbeek, as the article implies. They were certainly at Nijmegen; I saw them. 3 Yes, there were hundreds of British and Dutch re-enactors, but that is misleading: the overwhelming majority I saw were Dutch. About 90% at a guess. 4 I assume it is true that some German paratroopers dropped on the Ginkelse Heide, but I don't think it was announced. I remember the announcer saying that the paratroopers were all British or Dutch, and the British officer contradicted him in his speech a bit later by saying they were British and Dutch and also from other NATO countries. The above is my experience. Anybody experience it differently?

The only thing that counts is the long lasting fiendship and I think that will stay foreever. My friends are sons of a veteran, they came here since 1960 and they will come every year as long as they can. Can't comment on your other questions. Ron

Think you're right, can't remeber, but I happen to speak to the announcer the day before the dropping and he then told that there would be Belgian and German paratroopers dropped. I also saw Germans soldiers in he crowd on saturday. Levien.

Ps. Ray Strong, is also on the Merseyside Vet's bookmark that you have posted on your home page. P
Hey, that's great Phil, looking forward to your pictures. I have more pics from Ray and Ruth on my site at several events.
Last Friday afternoon at Groesbeek I took some photos of veterans from the Market Garden Old Comrades Group from South Yorkshire. A few of the photos turned out quite well, and I'd like to send them to the Group. But I can't find any suitable email address to contact. Any ideas?
