    388 will be ready within 3 months time, went to the meeting today about the new Roll of honour, knew most it but interesting anyway

    I've just had an email this morning from Geert Maassen to advise me that he does not expect the new Roll of Honour to be available before April.

    He said that they will not start thinking about a publication date until the first printer's proofs are ready which he hopes will be somewhere around the end of January.

    Research is still ongoing and Geert's email contained some further requests for information to be looked up.

    Still ongoing??
    I seem to remember that Geert and the team had already acknowledged that there would be a 6th edition in the future so why not just draw a line under what they have now and save the rest for the 6th edition?
    If he is still asking for new info then I fear even the April date will be missed. :unsure:
    All the best.........:)

    Whilst going through "From Delhi to Arnhem" for my database I came across this great little quote:

    Private L. D. Josephs was batman to Lt. Cambier and was taken POW by the Germans. Under interrogation he was asked where he had landed, to which he replied "on my f---ing arse!"

    :lol::lol:.........

    Myth and Reality Sebastian Ritchie demonstrates that the operation can only be properly understood if it is considered alongside earlier airborne ventures

    What a crap, when it would have been written 50 years ago probably, now everybody knows what when wrong, another boring book down the drain, I hate these WHAT IF if books!

    I had the same thought as Philip, 60 years ago Boeree and Bauer already
    wrote a similar book and many followed. But on the other hand..it does say ARNHEM isn't it:D

    Now that's the spirit Ron!! :lol:
    Seriously though, I agree that the "what if/what went wrong" theme has been pretty much been done to death and I'll be EXTREMELY surprised if Sebastian Ritchie can throw any new light on this topic. I much prefer the personal stories and the unit specific books to the "overview" type but if we let that stop us from buying books I think this thread may have died ages ago!! :lol:.
