Interested to see a number of my photographs of documents appearing without obtaining my permission - has he never heard of copyright?

A Dutch friend of mine showed me his copy of the 1st Para Brigade booklet as mentioned and whislt not an expert on copyright the author seems to have his own rules. There is a photo that I've seen many times of the HQ in the 1944 in Lincolnshire perhaps on paradata yet he is claiming copyright to it. Also a photo of some of the officers - no copyright claimed but when cut and pasted into individual people copyright claimed.
Anyway whilst I would think of giving the author who i believe is Dutch credit for writing in English there are load of new ones on me in it.- One page there is a soldier going for a commission and is sent to an Officer Commanding Training Unit, always thought this was Officer Cadet Training Unit, General Security Officer 3 presumably General Staff Officer, Director Adjutant Assistant and Quartermaster General - shouldn't this be Deputy Assistant Adjutant and QMG? Mention of Major Deanne-Drummond - shouldn't this be Major Deane-Drummond - his name on my copy of Return Ticket is Deane-Drummond.
Also a lot of sentences that don't make sense - the battalion medical officer with broke of genius onto the civil telephone line being one example
My friend told me he paid the best part of 20 euros for it- doesn't sound value for money to me!

    Dear lancebombardier,

Thank you very much for your post. The Dutchman that wrote the booklet did in fact ask me to read through his work to check for any spelling/grammar mistakes, so I guess I should take the blame for the awful mistakes you have so eloquently pointed out.

As I'm sure you're aware judging by your post, "typos" are very easy to miss but I promise to look closer next time (if I'm asked after such a dreadful effort on my part :().

    All the best :salut:

Don't give comment on a book but on a person, so no irony at all Mr Ball!

Chaps, IMHO this is all getting very tedious.

I would suggest that any further comments on this particular subject are made via PM to the relevant person. I'd rather not have this thread, which to date has been a very friendly and amicable place, dragged down.

    Thanks ....................
