Thanks for the pic mate. I'm looking forward to April when the book is officially launched (pardon the pun!) at Duxford.......... :)

I think the list for Duxford is now closed.......hopefully it will be a good day.....well afternoon.....

Any comments on Arnhem Surgeon or indeed spelling mistakes?????

As I know that you're short of money after all your recent expenditure on "SOT" I've sent you an email with the preface from the later version.
It's probably not necessary as I'm certain that John O'Reilly covered it well in his book.
Geoffrey Powell's daughter is still very much associated with the old 156 Bn and I had a very interesting conversation with her about her Father at the last reunion. I know that she provided a lot of information to John O'Reilly.

    John

Thanks very much for that John, it saves me buying another book!!

    All the best........

Just found out (if everyone already knows: sorry!) that Zeno also wrote The four sergeants, about 1 Para Independent Coy in Sicily, 1943. There are many copies available, very cheap, for example on Amazon. I have decided not to buy it, because my Arnhem collection is growing too big and I can't find a place in my house to stock more airborne related books. But maybe one of you nutters will want to buy a copy.:D

Dutch title De vier sergeants (now a copy on marktplaats).

I'm sure you all know this but just in case!
Zeno was the pen name of Gerald Lamarque AKA Kenneth Sidney Allerton who served with No.2 Platoon, 21st Independent Company at Arnhem. In 1959 he was imprisoned for life for the murder of his ex-girlfriends boss who was sexually harrasing her. Full details are given in the book "Leading the way to Arnhem".
    All the best.........:)

In case anyone does decide to buy a copy (DAVE!! :D), the first edition was published in the UK in 1976 by Macmillan. A hardback and paperback were released at the same time (I think ).............
    Happy hunting...........:D
