    379/101 HAA Ubique

    Hello everyone,

I recently received a service record for another relative of mine and noticed that the National Registration / Civil Resistration Number is different from my Grandfather`s.

I know this is probably obvious to many but is this related to the 1939 National Registration Act and is this number specifically what was allocated to the individual under this act for security purposes?.

For instance my Grandfather`s paper states at the top - Civil Registration Number - WILP 75/1, whilst another relative`s service paper shows - WILV 33/3.

I had assumed (probably incorrectly) that this might be a way to find out where they enlisted, having initially thought these numbers might relate to the place they had signed up.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Regards,

    John
