  1. Golng through my grandads service book it says he was transferred from 1st battalion Wiltshire to Army Air Corps on 23-11-44 and says BLA to 26-2-46 his no was 5569083 name Stanley Musselwhite any help appreciate

    First thing to do is obtain his service records from the MOD they will set you off on the right track - the forms are here Request records of deceased service personnel

    BLA = British Liberation Army

    If you can post up some images from the book it gives some more clues

    Looks like he became a paratrooper.

    Yup, Looking at the BLA line it looks like he had joined the Paras (as mentioned above) and the date 8/5/45 I'd say he went to Denmark or Norway with the 1st Airborne Division to help disarm the occupying German forces - in the book does it mention a Parachute qualification?

    If it mentions a parachute qualification, it may be possible from the date to check him against one of the courses and reveal his Battalion

  11. Yes found him on ringway course was then sent to Arnhem then to Denmark to oversea the German surrender I’ve been told

    Yes sorry it mentions 1st parachute battalion
