That Habbaniya site has some great stuff. Off topic, but does anyone know which make/model of armored car this is? It was used by the Iraqis in the 1941 attack on the base.

I'd say it was a Crossley.

No armour or indeed vehicles of any type. Simply some cheeky chaps trying to keep their helmets dry...

    Von P likes German half-tracks doesn't he ?

I believe I can see where he has concealed the track adjusting tool.

A gentleman in a sun helmet can be considered properly dressed, whatever lies below...

The criteria for vehicles & stylish hats has been fully met there though, and it made me laugh quite a lot.

One pith helmet and one other vehicle, sadly colourised.

Have we seen this one? Said to be taken during the British and Russian occupation of Iran.

Some photos of 9th Light Tank Company - the tanks are (I think) Indian Pattern IVA, as well as the Pith Helmets there are protective helmets of a type I've never seen before (although I haven't checked the full thread) - the kit layout photo seems to show 3 different helmet types (as well as the black beret) - I guess that was the standard scale of issue.

These photos relate to 7885543 Cpl John Graves who as a member of C Sqn 8th RTR died of wounds 17/12/41 (any info on him and where he was wounded would be welcome)
