    Hi all,

I went out to Oshawa yesterday and got a lot of good pictures. I didn't stay for/see everything... I got tired and I am not a 100% fan of their battle re-enactments.

I seem to be posting images in 4 different places which is getting a bit much so I might (if it's ok) just link to my future Twitter posts when I post images. I was pretty happy with how my 15(?) year old digital camera performed - it's a DMC-FZ8 with a 10x optical zoom which is handy.

There were not only a lot of tanks but also some interesting wheelie things.

The last tank here is a Latvian Vickers light tank.

And I'm not sure what the official designation of this CMP signals truck would be (could anyone fill me in?), but apparently it was the first one to roll off the assembly line in Oshawa (production serial number 0001 apparently)

You're welcome! There were a lot of interesting things to see.

I didn't get his name, but I also got photos of an English gentleman and his wonderfully restored jeep. Jeeps are obviously not uncommon but he also had a Number 19 set and a standing antenna set up, and the set was in working condition. (I think he didn't have a license to transmit but he did turn it on briefly for me.)

  5. The truck is a CMP C15. Note the chevvy badge on the grille.

I need to get/find the PDF (I think one exists legally) of all the CMP vehicles that Temujin was referring to.

Yes, that's it, thank you! That would make the wireless truck the "Truck, 15 cwt, fitted for wireless".... I think? It doesn't actually exactly match that or Truck, 15 cwt, Wireless. It does more closely resemble the latter.

  9. Its the one on page 71 of the PDF; a C15 wireless (if 2WD) or a C15A wireless (if 4WD). Note the descriptions in that pamphlet are generic, as are many of the photos. Most of the CMP vehicles were built by at least three manufacturers. Even from one manufacturer there could be variations in cab style during the production run.

Right, I realized that the picture in the book was of a GM vehicle, but I think this was a Chrysler.
