What did you think of it?

It was OK, felt they talked up the Aussies and played down the Brits.
I felt the bit in the bar where the Tommies gave the Aussies a round of applause and a cheers was a bit unbelievable, more likely to have a punch up. :)
Thought the bit where they shot the escaping Turks good, showed they wouldn't always "play the game" but kill the enemy whenever they could.

There was resentment there as the Light Horse was not used for effect by the British command.

Spare a thought today for all the Aussies and Kiwis that ever went to war on this years ANZAC Day.

I'm a bit late posting here but I've just found this thread.

I was delighted with the coverage given to all the ANZAC Day events on the Australia channel. I watched the lot.

Far cry from when I started going to Dawn Service. When there was me and a handful of Diggers and a trumpeter. Now there are prayers and a big screen.

I was delighted to attend Dawn Service at Hellfire Pass a couple of years ago. Rather spooky place IMO.

    Hi.
Thought I might put this up, if there is a service at Waimangaroa (where I live) I will post a link to it here, any other ANZAC Day videos would be cool to put up too.

I shall be thinking of Gallipoli tomorrow as my grandfather and great uncle both landed on 25th April, on Cape Helles (both on W Beach in fact).

This is Lone Pine, where so many Australians fell:

I have in front of me here a pine cone from the tree, propagated from the original, that grows at the Shrine of Remembrance here in Melbourne.

That's quite something, John! Any photos of the tree in Melbourne?

I have just returned home from attending an excellent ceremony commemorating Anzac Day at the Berlin War cemetery.

I will attach the Order of ceremony booklet which includes the history of the commemoration of Anzac day

A very moving service especially when singing Abide with me.

Hope you enjoy the photographs, especially our Southern hemisphere members.

I appear to be having problems posting the photos and so will try again later

    Regards
    Tom

The programme appears to be behaving now and hopefully all the photographs will appear.

I took the photos in the order of the service sheet.

    Tom

I have just had the honour of attending Anzac Day here in the CWGC in Berlin.

Last post and singing Abide with me always brings watery eyes.
