    Evening!

I started another thread looking for information on my Great Grandad who’s grave is in Yokohoma War Cemetary (William Ernest Lambourne) The replies have been overwhelming and I really appreciate all the amazing responses and information.

My Nan is 82 and has never had the chance to visit his grave. I would love to arrange for a small cross with a message from her to be placed on his grave.

This post is basically to ask if anyone is planning to visit this cemetery in the near future and would do the most amazing thing for us and put a cross on his grave for us that id buy and then take a photo.

Or if anyone could point me in the direction of where else I could ask this.

    Many thanks.

temptage I thought it would only take a few weeks......

Emma, in all honesty, I would contact the CWGC directly. Their staff have, within the last year or so, been instructed to be more hand's on when it comes to social media and contact from the public. I have requested photos from around the world, including across Europe, Iraq, Thailand and Burma and across Africa, which have all been forthcoming, as nearly everyone has mobile phones available where they are working.
Because of the location of Yokohama, and the fact that it isn't just a quick hop on a plane to get there, that my guess would be that they would be all too willing to help you with your quest. I even emailed Victoria Wallace direct for help on one little task, and she came up trumps.

Whats the worst that can happen?

Thanks for your reply. A few days after this post I contacted the British Embassy in Japan in regards to another matter regarding my GG and they put me in contact with a lady called Taeko Sasamoto who is the head of POW research in Japan. She has kindly offered to put some crosses on his grave for us which we actually sent to her this week. She lives close to the Cemetary. She has been so helpful with everything so far and provided lots of information about my GG.

Thanks for the info tho, it’s defintely worth noting for the future if we want anything else out there.
