Anyone require War Diaries or other files from the National Archives?

Just to say a big thank you for your excellent service. Your service and communication in obtaining war diaries for me have been first class. At a great price too!

I received the disc with a few days of you confirming you had obtained the copies. I'm delighted with the content as I've discovered from the files that my Grandfather is actually mentioned in person in one of the diaries. This is as a result of him returing to his unit uninjured following significant enemy contact where two vehicle were destroyed.

I would highly recommend your service to anyone thinking of looking to obtain copies from Kew. I'll certainly be in touch again with some further requests in the future.

Cheers Danny and the others for your feedback....It all helps to let me know I'm doing something right and I love to hear stories like Danny's when someone finds a relative named which is quite rare unless they are a officer.

Overseas are pretty much OK - although Sol seems to get his via Thailand for some reason

I loose roughly 1 to 3 a month in the UK. Funnily enough someone's just PM'd to say theirs hasn't arrived this week. It's not the privatisation before you ask, it's been like this since I started doing it :p

 

Now taking new orders for my next trip - No date planned yet but will go as soon as I have enough to cover the fuel costs.

I'll bow to your expertise and obviously credit you the money back on your next order. I did check I had the right file when I saw the name on the file. The error must be a National Archives one as this is definitely the file I copied for you regarding the ref and the name that Kew lists online:

Looking at the dates of the 1942 diaries I should of realised there was an error as there are two files covering some of the same months.

 

Andy I do not blame you. You has always delivered in the past and I feel confident you will do again in the future. So I am not complaining about your work. I only know you as an honest man Andy so sorry I will not demand a refund on this one. And will not be offended if you call me weird for the same reason.

Just a quick heads up for anyone waiting for orders - as you can tell by the time of this post, I've got up today with the best intentions (As I did last Tuesday) to drive to Kew but a poorly household is stopping play.

I've just booked to go again (or at least try) for this Saturday, 12th April - sorry for the delay.
