Anyone require War Diaries or other files from the National Archives?

By Royal Decree and orders from the Boss and Baby I'm not allowed to go to Kew tomorrow, basically we both need the main car and the baby always gets his way. I am however going to get a day trip in on Friday before I go back to work and then do a three day trip next week during some annual leave so there will be a few days delay on most orders.

If anyone has a problem with the couple of extra days delay drop me a PM.

I'm assuming it contains around 148 pages as Kew charge roughly a £1 a page? If that's the case then the cost would be around £14.80 for me to do it for you.

 

Just a quick heads up for anyone who is waiting for an order. I've copied all of your orders, pretty much everything in most cases but after spending 5 days at Kew I'm going to need a couple of days to sort the images in to files for you. I'll be in touch in a day or so.

Can Drew or anyone else advise on getting copies of documents from the IWM?

I've located at several deposits of personal memoirs there .. can they be photographed ?

I believe all you can do there, is copy by writing the info down on paper. No cameras allowed.

Bad News....I'm going to have to delay my trip due to the weather. Apparently my digs (Parents house on the south coast) is not a good place to be at the moment.

Any problems drop me a PM. I'll post on here in a few days time when I'm visiting again. Hopefully it won't be too long.

Myself and Tom are up there this coming Thursday (27th) ... you might not be able to see me though if surrounded by a bulk order of 50 files!!! I will be sitting in the corner
If we get there early enough might have time for a starter cup of coffee but then it's all hands to the files!!
