I would like a Fairey Battle and a Me 109. Not sure if both can be purchased in a kit form but would like them to be a good size. I'm proper shit at making models hence why I'm asking if someone can make and paint them for me.
Contact this bloke, he'll put you in touch with some local IPMS members. http://ipmsuk.co.uk/branches.php York and North Riding Branch Secretary: Ian Hartup Address: 24 Tatefield Place, Kippax, Leeds, LS25 7JZ Mobile: 07791 678532 E-Mail: bams@talktalk.net
Have you considered die cast models. They are very good these days, cover most subjects, more robust than plastic kits, have a better finish than the average modeller can achieve and will almost certainly be cheaper than commissioning. Plenty on line but I have not seen any in real life recently since all the model shops have closed. Mike
I want a fairly large scale Mike and they are to be hung in my sons bedroom (A kind of mobile) as a surprise for his mother
Andy are you sure it is for your son's bedroom - I have known Dads buy a train set for their kids so they can play with it themselves. Brian
Anyone got a rough idea on how much you'd pay for someone to make a 1:24 scale model Spitfire? I've made contact with the chap mentioned above and he's asked what my budget would be. I don't want to randomly say some stupid figure and never hear from him again or hear him shout YES from the other side of Leeds as I've said a £1,000 (joking) or something ridiculously stupid.
Yeah...It was through him that I got in contact with Mike, not that many keen by all accounts. Notts is just 90 minutes away
