Has anyone got a copy of "Royal Engineers Vocabulary of Stores, Group 4, Section 5, Sub-Section 4" which covers bridging and was published in early 1950's? Not necessarily looking to buy it, just want information from it and maybe a couple of digital photographs of relevant pages?

It's not to be found in NAM: RE Museum / Library; IWM, or Kew. Have a query in with TICRE but thought I'd try here also, just on the off-chance. Anyone at all?

So no-one then! Not surprising really, I've been searching for this particular volume for a while now and it's simply not to be found anywhere. There does not appear to be a single institution with a copy of this book, anywhere on the blimmin planet! It is inconceivable to me that there does not appear to be a wholesale archive of every WO publication and that it really comes down to whatever institution can snag a copy of something as it goes by!

It seems that at various times... what was considered important to preserve has varied a great deal, or has been rather haphazard. I only say this because of the material I've been exposed to which somehow escaped being thrown away here in Canada (because we received copies of many reports) but somehow were lost, misfiled, or never included in the UK National Archives. (I don't doubt that there are Canadian documents related to the war which now only exist at Kew, as well!)

Nope, none of those. Been through TNA already and Nada! Have a query in with them at the mo asking if their is a repository, even on fiche, for all the old WO publications? Let's see what they say!
