Reinforcement Holding Unit 34 on the 3rd March 1945 I am trying to find out where the Holding Units were based, specifically Reinforcement Holding Unit 34 on the 3rd March 1945. I'm piecing together my grandfather's last days. You guys seem to know everything that was going on; can anyone tell me this information or let me know how I would find out? Hi, Welcome to the forum. The unit's war diary held at the National Archives might be just the thing. The reference for the 1945 diary is: WO 171/8208, 34 Unit 1945 Jan.- Dec, (If you need help obtaining a copy of it, drop me a PM). All the best, Lee

Hello Brooks I was interested in your post as my Uncle was sent to this unit from 34 Casualty Clearing Station and then hospital in July 1945. I am assuming that this CCS and Holding Station was somewhere in Germany. Would you be able to confirm this?
