Recently and totally out of the blue I was contacted by the son of Polish Arnhem Veteren Antoni Snarski. He had seen that I had purchased a copy of his fathers book 'Journey To Freedom' from Ebay. Although it wasn't him who sold the book to me,he still wanted to thank me for spending the money I did. I thought this was an extremely nice thing for someone to do and since that initial contact we corresponded frequently. Antoni Snarski is indeed still with us at the the tender age of 91 and living in England. His son Charles has kindly sent me a disk of photographs that I would like to share with you. Some of the pictures were taken in 2006 and were of the presentation of the 'Military Order of William' being awarded to the 1st Parachute Brigade and also 'The Bronze Lion' to there former commander Major General Stanislaw Sosabowski. Both medals were presented by her Majesty Queen Beatrice. As well as the photo's I also have a video of Antoni back in Poland at another local ceremony and copy of a Polish newspaper featuring Antoni and a few other bits and pieces.
