As an aside, his father Archibald Antill served with the Machine Gun Corp in the first world war. He was captured on the first day of the German Spring Offensive near Bullecourt. Although the german POW record says he was 'not wounded' (may have differentiated between gas and physical wounds?) he died in 1922 and his wife (Les' mother) got a war widows pension for her and their 4 children. I have a family photo noting he had been wounded and captured.
