I'm aware of the dangers that faces those of us who are in our mid-eighties. One such danger is that we find ourselves dwelling on things and events long past as if to prefer re-hashing old memories to accepting present every day circumstances. Having said that, I have never regretted living in that frenetic wartime era and it requires little effort on my part to recall and enjoy past friendships. Today I was thinking about a lovely chap named Eddie Patman. I wrote about him here: BBC - WW2 People's War - A tribute to Edward Arthur Patman, known as ‘Pat’ and today I was sorting out some holiday snaps on my PC and realised that I had another of those "Then and now" photos, this time one of the famous Ponte Rialto bridge in Venice. I show the snaps below...... what do you reckon?
what do you reckon? Your Mrs is better looking!! Nice one Ron. Must be odd to go back after all those years.
