I thought members might be interested to read more about this bloody battle of 6 April 1943, the anniversary of which is coming up next month. Since my Dad's book was published I've heard more from comrades or families with a connection to the battle - notably from Wilf Shaw who fought in it and is still alive today to tell his tale. Info also from the family of John Bousfield who was killed in that battle and who was a best pal of Dad's. Click on the link below to read more ... Bit late replying to this, I missed it when first posted. Thanks for the reminder and just to say again I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend anyone interested in this area to read it.
Thanks Reme - nice to get feedback. Whilst I'm on, I am beginning to accumulate a number of speaking engagements and whilst most people outside of Norfolk won't be interested (that's where the talks are!) there is one recent addition with the National War Museum in London in the Autumn. It's a hobby and labour of love! Bit late replying to this, I missed it when first posted.
