    I've never read it.
Maybe I just find stuff about the holocaust too uncomfortable.

During the Nuremburg war crimes trial, most of those accused did not have the stomach to watch the graphic films shown as evidence.

What was perpetrated was mans inhumanity to man at it's worst. As some have pointed out, as a race we never seem to learn and probably never will. Zimbabwe as the latest example!!!

Just watched the last part on BBCi -
SS Man : "Where did you get that ?"
Otto Frank :"I fought for Germany".
SS Man : "You fought in the war ?"

It says it all ...... it galls me that people would attempt to destroy the memory of this young girl by trying to discrediting the gift which she gave to people born long after her untimely and tragic death.
What an utter waste of a youngsters life , yet what a legacy to leave.

Thanks for the heads up on the book, James.
They had to do all sorts of tests on the diary in 1980 as it was called a fake from quarters in Germany as they said it was too well written. Hadn't Otto Frank been thru enough? Anne Frank did re-write it and Otto did censor it as it was harsh about Anne's mother and about her growing pains.
The uncensored version came out after Otto's death.

One scene stood out where the German troops came on stage searching, shouting Schnell, Schnell, etc and a guy sat near the front shouted "She's in the attic!" Sorry, I did laugh.............

Are you quite sure Glenn BoB ;) ?

    marcus69x I love WW2 meah!!!

Me too mate. Hurry up and watch the rest.

I thought it was really well put together and acted. Ellie Kendrick who plays Anne was excellent in her role. I've still not read the book yet, I'll have to look in the library.

I've just had a Google on Felicity Jones who plays Margot Frank.
    She's 25 !

    Ellie Kendrick is 19.

I know they look young on TV but wonder what sort of impact if the actors were the same age as the real people?

Ellie Kendrick is a Kent girl; they showed her on our local news the other day. Am sure they said she was only 17?

Just spent all morning in bed with wife & daughter watching last 3 episodes and the documentery.
    Superb.
Attention to detail in the drama was amazing.
Daughter now wants to read the diary.
It was good to see the clips of Otto from Blue Peter again.

    Thanks again Robert.

Am more determined than ever to get to Auschwitz.

Glad you got to see it, Owen. They should put it on the national curriculum.
