I got these off someone on facebook. Thought the forum might like to see them so here goes: The Villa that overlooked the camp http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9525&stc=1&d=1219948283 The stairs leading down to the cellar http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9526&stc=1&d=1219948303 The man himself http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9527&stc=1&d=1219948314 The cellar where Helena Hirsch used to live. In the corner is where the washing facilities used to be. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9528&stc=1&d=1219948351 The balcony where Amon used to use the jews as target practice http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9529&stc=1&d=1219948369 Goeths living room. Untouched and as it stands today. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=9530&stc=1&d=1219948385 Cheers marcus
What a curious survival. Coincidentally, someone just sent me footage of Goeth's execution from Youtube (I get some odd emails). Rather bungled '3rd time lucky' job... not enough to raise any sympathy for the man though. I wonder if the Nazi's would have hung him anyway, the way things went for him after his 'career' in the KLs. Trial of Amon Leopold Goeth. United Nations War Crimes Commission. 1948
Bit more on him here. Amon Goeth Kraków-PÅ‚aszów concentration camp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Just trying to find it on GE. Searching on GE for "Krakow-Płaszów concentration camp" send you here....
Cheers Owen. Nice Kmz file even if it doesn't resemble the camp now, it's still nice to see where history happened. I still think he looks like Lee Harvey Oswald though. :p
Such an Aryan pot-belly in post #1 ! And somewhere in a forum there is a member with a nickname inspired on this filth and he is left alone.
If anyone has any doubts about the Nazis and the Third Reich being evil, they should be referred to this scumbags career.
A Lady who was one of Goeth's 'House slaves' revisits the house, in the company of Goeth's daughter: YouTube - P.O.V. Inheritance part 7 (about 7.5 minutes in, and continued in part 8,)
Powerful documentary. That needs showing on British TV. Just seen footage of his execution. Bit of a farce. Steve asked on another thread if there is a DVD of the documentary. It's here. Shop PBS - Shop by Topic: Issues & Events: International: P.O.V.: Inheritance DVD
Steve asked on another thread if there is a DVD of the documentary. Appreciate the effort, Owen. Unfortunately, I have neither a credit card, nor a multi region DVD player. I tried Inheritance: A Nazi Legacy and the Journey to Change It 2006 REGION 1 NTSC: Amazon.co.uk: Monika Hertwig, Helen Jonas-Rosenzweig, Harris Done, Andres Goldstein, Daniel Tarrab, James Moll: DVD But I'm still stuck. Never mind. I've enough to be getting on with for now
I've found the address of the villa on here. Schindler's KrakówÂX Amon Goeth - Sightseeing in Krakow - In Your Pocket city guide - essential travel guides to cities in Poland Goeth’s villa still stands and can be viewed at ul. Heltmana 22. If I've got it right here is a kmz file to view it on GoogleEarth. Have I got the location of his house & plaszow camp correct? If so they are quite away apart. Did he really shot people from the balcony as in the film? If so were they marching to the camp as the camp is too far away. From above mentioned website Unable to shoot at prisoners from his balcony, he saved that dubious pleasure to taking crack shots from high on a hill.
Odd , this website mentions a different street. Jerozolimska Street Former residence of Amon Goeth, the commandant of Plaszow concentration camp Which is the correct house?
According to this photo it is now up for sale. Photo by battlefield_historian • Instagram edit: this says it's been up for sale since 2010. KL Plaszow - Willa komendanta obozu – Wikipedia, wolna encyklopedia
A bit of personal tragedy emerges. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/nigerian-german-learns-schindlers-list-killer-her-grandfather-160633255.html#fA39Jxl Ms. Teege, however, has no reason at all for shame or any negative thoughts: it is absolutely no concern of hers if one of her ancestors was so-and-so. Nevertheless it is rather ironic that the progeny of this butcher became a bit non-Aryan... ----- Perhaps this was touched upon in post no.10, but the videos are gone.
