American Service casualties - by theatre and by date?

I wish to find the names of a number of American servicemen who were killed by a flying bomb on 3rd July 1944. There is an excellent website at http://www.londonmemorial.org in which Alex Schneider has listed a large number of casualties, but I have found more (many by luck).

Is there a way of finding out which American soldiers were killed, on a certain day...??

I am aware that Ancestry lists Americans who were interred in the UK, but what about deceased soldiers shipped back to the USA?

    Thanks

    Pete

Thanks, Clive. Sadly, it only shows soldiers buried in military cemeteries.

Every American killed was awarded a Purple Heart. I've been on a couple of sites where, if you know the name, it shows the recipient. But there doesn't appear to be a site where you can search by date only (because you don't know the name).
