For those who had not seen these high-resolution photos about some outstanding German characters of WWII. So clear and detailed that you can even see their eye-colour and details of their decorations. ____________________________________ SS SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler SS Oberstgruppenführer Joseph Dietrich. No doubt the quality of the colour photographs is outstanding. What I don't like at all is their source. They do come from a NAZI-Propaganda website which gets now free advertisements through this forum. It offers computer-games like "Hunting rats in concentration camps" and other disgusting material. I wonder wether a connection with such a website is welcome on this forum. Regards, Daniel
Well, if anyone was curious about the origin of the pictures Daniel, you’ve cleared that up for them! Please don’t misunderstand me, I believe there is a danger visiting nazi sites just as there’s a danger in dabbling in the occult without knowing the very real risks and pitfalls! I don’t visit myself unless I have a specific reason to, and, I’m not speaking for Freddy who is quite capable of doing that himself. However, having known him for some time through the web, he’s no nazis or nazi sympathiser but he is a very conscientious historian. No.9
Neo-nazi site or no, the matériel is very good and I hadn't seen it anywhere else. I posted the direct links to the photographs and not the page precisely because of the nature of the site. However, we all have our own criteria and it is up to everyone whether they care or not about or whether they use or not that information.
I'm want to correct something Bernhard Sauvant ( CO of KG Sauvant '42, s. Pz. Abt 505 '43, PzRegt 36 & s. Pz. Abt 510 44/45) was only Major and not a Generalmajor. I'm interested in who posted this photo of my Grandfather, because it was posted without the authorisation (i Don't know the engl. word) of our family and orginal is the property of the family Sauvant. the grandchild of Major Berhard A. F. Sauvant der Panzertruppen
Hello Grandchild of etc... By his account, Friedrich got them from a rather nasty neo-Nazi website - they should be easy to trace on the Internet. ('authorisation' of family for copyright is more usually 'consent' in English) ========================================== Save for a few exceptions, what a lot of unsavoury people being shown 'warts and all', as Oliver Cromwell is reputed to have said. In his photo, Martin Bormann looks remarkably like one of my old university professors without his spectacles. He was hung back in the '40s ... right? Richard

Don't forget that after XX years (60 I believe unless you are Donald Duck) this material is copyright free and no one needs consent. Regards, Marco

He went "adrift" in 1945 and no-one knows for sure what happened to him. However, a friend of my fathers always claimed to have emptied a sten gun into him, when he was trying to cross the Danish border in 1945. I asked a question about this in here several months ago, but no-one really gave a definate answer.

As it happens, I saved the link too, in a folder on my favourites called "NAZI Sites", because I like to check out what they are up to once in a while.
The pictuers were great. Were they taken in color or was it afterwords that they were coloured. One point on alot of them- not many of them had blond hair or blue eys. was that just a mistake in colouring? You guys are right by commenting about caoution in that site. I totally agree. DP
